Urce

Long ago, a God named Zelket forged the world of Urce from the six elements of the Aether. Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Life, and Death were bound together to make a plane where Zelket could escape the watchful eye of his father, the Lord God Krillourak. However, Krillourak was not decieved for long. Enraged, the Lord God sundered Urce to punish his impudent son. The inhabitants of Urce called this the Tearing and were left with only four landmasses on which to rebuild. The continents of Rasgor, Ket, Gernam, and Balfornas were all that remained. Zelket created twelve Demigods to rule over Urce in his absence, in order to enforce his rule and continue the inhabitants worship of him. Thousands of years later, the beings set adrift by the Tearing have flourished. With both scientific technology and mastery of magic, the Soul Mirror Project (SMP) was undertaken. However, the mysterious Soul Mirror Project was a disaster. The catastrophic failure shifted the entire world, changing the rotation of the planet. Both Rasgor and Gernam were plunged into everlasting darkness. Balfornas only recieves a few hours of diluted sunlight per day. Ket instead has no night and is blanketed in eternal sunlight. This chaos sent the nations reeling, and many collapsed. Most of the technology possesed by Urce’s peoples was lost, with remnants littered around the world. Zelket’s chosen, the Demigods, became corrupted and abandoned their ancient duty. Evil cults and blasphemous religions worshiping the Demigods began which sought to accrue power and wealth for an unknown purpose. The most prominent of the new Demigod religions are the Felix Fire-Born and the Ankara Shadow-Keepers.
